The HortiCult leaves no one behind.
Our resources are not meant to replace the notes or instructions you receive during technical training. They are study guides, advice, and strategies to succeed.
We also offer a tutoring service to apprentices. You can book a 1-hour appointment by emailing us or asking in the Discord channel. Availability is dependent on generous donations and fundraising to compensate our tutors.
Our Approach
Our mission is to support Landscape Horticulturists in Manitoba on their apprenticeship journey. We don’t judge, and we understand learning differences and neurodivergence.
Sometimes it’s been a while since you were in school, and sometimes we need a hand understanding something new and tricky.
Whatever your reason, you can find resources here that our members have created for you.
Level one apprentices are onboarded into Hort Club after their first couple of weeks of technical training.
For registered Manitoba apprentices, speak to your instructors about access.
Help! I don’t know anything about plants.
You actually probably know more about plants than you realize. Every day, you are constantly surrounded by plants and the many things we use them for in our lives.
We have tutors who specialize in softscape and are passionate about horticulture. We can help get you rooted.
Segmented retaining walls? I’ve never built anything like that.
Our trade is so diverse that sometimes we work in areas that have more emphasis than others. Don’t let this deter you.
We learn so many hands-on skills, and our resources can help if you’re finding it tricky.
