We are Manitoba Landscape Horticulturists making a difference.
What does Hort Club offer?
1
We offer tutoring, peer mentorship, and study resources. We provide apprentices with a supportive, judgment-free place to network, ask questions, and seek help. We advocate for apprentices and give them a voice in the industry. We volunteer and fundraise for our Manitoba Team and Coordinator at Skills Canada national competitions.
How do I get involved?
2
If you are a Manitoba alumni of the Apprentice Landscape Horticulturist trade program and want to give back, we are always looking for volunteers and supporters to answer apprentice questions, tutor, or provide peer support. We have a Discord server with public and private networking channels where you can talk with fellow alumni and get updates on Hort Club and the apprenticeship program. Hort Club is the link between industry and Manitoba’s emerging trade experts.
Who are you associated with?
3
We are associated with the Professional Development Committee of the Manitoba Nursery and Landscape Association. We operate as an independent social impact organization founded by Red Seal Endorsed Landscape Horticulturist Benjamin Schofield in 2022. Hort Club Manitoba is a registered entity that reinvests its funds raised into resources for apprentices, not stakeholders.
We are not associated with Apprenticeship Manitoba or RRC Polytech. Our resources are created in-house by industry-certified or Red Seal Endorsed journeypeople.
How can I contact you?
4
If you’re interested in getting involved, you’ll know The Guy to ask. You can also email us, use a QR code from our business cards (we hand them out at industry events) or ask one of your apprentices!
